About the US India Artificial Intelligence Initiative
- Focus Area: USIAI Initiative focuses on AI cooperation in critical areas that are priorities for both countries.
- Purpose: It will serve as a platform to discuss opportunities, challenges, and barriers for bilateral AI R&D collaboration, enable AI innovation, help share ideas for developing an AI workforce, and recommend modes and mechanisms for catalyzing partnerships.
- Significance:The US-India strategic partnership can be strengthened by focusing on AI cooperation in critical areas that are priorities for both countries.
About Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF)
- Establishment: It is a bilateral organization established in 2000.
- Inter-governmental organization: It was established as an autonomous bilateral body through an inter-governmental agreement between India and the USA.
- Mandate: It was mandated to promote, catalyze and seed bilateral collaborations in science, technology, and innovation through close interactions among government, academia, and industry.
- Fund: It is funded by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), the Governments of India, and the U.S. Department of State.
