The “Thenzawl Golf Resort” Project implemented under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Ministry of Tourism was recently inaugurated.
The Ministry of Tourism endeavours to work as a catalyst and active supporter for the development of Golf Tourism in the country.
Launched by the Tourism Ministry in 2015, as a Central Sector Scheme.
Objective: Integrated development of theme-based tourist circuits in the country, developed on the principles of high tourist value, competitiveness and sustainability in an integrated manner.
Features of Swadesh Darshan Scheme:
Funding: 100% centrally funded for the project components undertaken for public funding.
Funding of individual projects will vary from state to state and will be finalised on the basis of detailed project reports prepared by PMC (Programme Management Consultant).
PMC will be a national level consultant to be appointed by the Mission Directorate.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): To leverage the voluntary funding available for CSR initiatives of Central Public Sector Undertakings and corporate sector.
A National Steering Committee (NSC): Will be constituted with the Minister in charge of M/O Tourism as Chairman, to steer the mission objectives and vision of the scheme.
A Mission Directorate: Headed by the Member Secretary, NSC as a nodal officer will help in identification of projects in consultation with the States/ UTs governments and other stakeholders.
The Project was sanctioned under the Integrated Development of New Eco Tourism under Swadesh Darshan - North East Circuit at Thenzawl & South Zote, District Serchhip and Reiek, Mizoram.
