About the Eagle Shark discovery

- Physical features: It is around 65 meters in length and a fin length of around 1.9 meters.
- It also longs pectoral fins which reminds the wings.
- It has a large head and teeth were either absent or smaller in size.
- Food habit: The study suggests that it depended on plankton rather than predator.
- This is considered the second known plankton feeder after the large bony fish known as
- Extinction process: Eagle sharks were slowly replaced by manta rays and devil rays, which emerged during the start of the Tertiary Period.
- It swims slowly and is so threatened by hunting.
