About SWAMITVA Scheme
- Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SWAMITVA) is a Central Sector Scheme.
- Ministry: Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development
- Launched on: National Panchayati Raj Day (24 April 2020), after the successful completion of its pilot phase in nine states.
- Objective: To provide a ‘record of rights’ to village household owners possessing houses in inhabited rural areas in villages and issuance of property cards to the property owners.

Utilization of Drones and CORS:
- Under the Scheme, land parcels will be mapped in rural inhabited areas using drone technology and Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) and prepare GIS based maps for each village.
- The CORS provides 5 cm accuracy on 1:500 scale maps.
- Udan Khatola (drone) flying in villages and localities for the survey is giving a new flight to the villages of India.
