Srivilliputhur–Megamalai Tiger Reserve
- It will be the fifth Tiger reserve of Tamil Nadu.
- It will encompass the Meghamalai and Srivilliputhur Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuaries.

Srivilliputhur Wildlife Sanctuary
- The Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary (GSWS) is also known as Srivilliputhur Wildlife Sanctuary.
- It was established to protect the Near-threatened grizzled giant squirrel (Ratufamacroura).
- It is bordered on the southwest by the Periyar Tiger Reserve.
- It is one of the best-preserved forests south of the Palghat Gap.
- Other animals seen here are Bengal tiger, bonnet macaque, common langur, flying squirrels, gaur, Indian giant squirrel, leopard, lion-tailed macaques, Nilgirilangur, NilgiriTahrs, etc.
Megamalai Wildlife Sanctuary
- The Megamalai Wildlife Sanctuary immensely strengthen the conservation in the southern Western Ghats – the range of hills south of the Palakkad Gap or Palghat Gap.
