About the new species of bird

  • The newly discovered bird has become the 1, 340th species of bird family in India.
  • Family: The new bird belongs to the rosefinch which is a resident in southern China.
    • The three banded rosefinch belongs to the family of Fringillidae.
  • Food habit: It is a seed-eating passerine bird.
  • Breeding: Itbreeds in forests with dense thickets and prefers coniferous growth.
  • Habitat: It is found in central China and far northeastern India.
    • It is usually found in between approximately 2100 and 3050 meters and in winters at slightly lower altitudes.
  • Conservation: Its conservation status is Least Concern.
