• The High Ambition Coalition (HAC) for the Environment and Humanities is a sub-national group of 70 countries comprising Costa Rica and France and the United Kingdom as Chair of the Ocean.
• Supports an international environmental agreement with people with a moderate goal of protecting at least 30 percent of the world's oceans by 2030.

 Membership

• HAC members currently include a combination of northern and southern countries, Europe, Latin America, African and Asian countries.
• India is the first BRICS member (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) to join HAC.
