What is Havana syndrome?
- These "unexplained health ailments" have been reported by Americans serving in other countries, including Germany, Austria, Russia and China.
- Symptoms: A person suffering from Havana syndrome exhibits a range of symptoms. These include nausea, hearing loss, memory loss, dizziness and tinnitus.
- After-effects: Some after-effects of the syndrome also include headaches, tinnitus, ear pain, vertigo, brain fog, loss of balance, muscle control and loss of vision and hearing.
How was it discovered?
- Havana syndrome was first detected in 2016 among spies and diplomats working at the American embassy in Havana.
- The syndrome still manages to remain a mystery for the world even after five years.
